Filomena's Friends believes in the unbreakable bond between a pet and their human. When humans commit to each other, it is "In sickness and in health". Our commitment to our pets should be no different. We realize, though, that when a person needs immediate treatment, there may not be anyone to take care of their pet. While we have immense respect and gratitude for shelters that protect animals and work hard to place them in loving homes, it is our belief that a pet with a loving owner does not belong in a shelter. They belong with their person; not just waiting for them to come home, but being allowed to visit them and participate in the healing process. Below are the services we offer to make that happen. (Please note that owners remain financially responsible for 100% of their pet's care.)
Long Term Foster Care
Foster Care that lasts more than 2 weeks but the owner intends on taking the pet back after their treatment.

Pet Visits
Visit Volunteers bring every pet to visit their owner for weekly visits.
Pet Guardian
A pet is welcomed into the life of a family while still being taken for weekly visits with their owner living in a nursing home.
