This is Lucy. Although the name may be a little misleading, he is a 10 year old male cat. He is currently in a boarding facility but is not doing well there. He has been refusing to eat and needs the TLC that comes from being in a loving home with a compassionate volunteer to reassure him that he is safe and loved. He would be a temporary long term placement of about 2 months. ***FOSTERED***

Abby is a sweet, friendly, 2 year old beagle mix. Her owner was found inside his house needing immediate medical attention. He has been hospitalized for about a week and family has been coming in to feed her. But, she is not used to being alone and is dealing with a lot of anxiety. She needs someone who will be able to spend time with her and take her for walks. She enjoys car rides and snuggling. Abby also lives with a cat and gets along well with him. She has also been around a smaller sized senior dog and done well with him. She has no history of aggression. She is housebroken and also uses puppy pads. The doctors are not certain how long Abby's owner will need to be hospitalized or if he will need to go to rehab after his hospital stay. The family is hoping that this will be no more than a 2-4 week foster placement. ***FOSTERED***

Berta is a 5 year old Long Haired Dachshund. She is 17 pounds. She has been through some trauma in her life so we are looking for a quiet home for Berta without children. She is very sweet and will likely cling to the person she considers her "Safe Person". We are also hoping Berta will have a foster with a fenced yard (even if it is small) because she may try to run away. An apartment that doesn't have a door that exits into the outdoors could also be considered a safe home. She does have occasional accidents in the house and needs to be let out frequently. She chews up puppy pads and will not use them. Because of her trauma, crates will cause her to panic, so she is not crated. So, we are also looking for a foster that is home most of the time. She loves car rides and her owner is willing to send her carseat if the foster is interested in taking her for rides.

Berta's owner is a 79 year old widow who is undergoing surgery for a knee replacement and then going to rehab, with no family in the area. Berta's owner believes visits would be too stressful for Berta so we would not be doing any visits with her.  This foster period is expected to last 3-4 weeks beginning September 24, 2026.
